Contributions to Next-generation Placement Tests
Development of test tasks is underway for the Next-generation Placement Tests – a call for contributions is now open
In a recent meeting of YALS, Serbian association of quality language schools a question of an effective placement test was brought up: the initial assessment was needed for some 150 adult learners in several cities around Serbia, for their proper placement in a suitable language course.
Rather disappointingly, it turned out that the best option we had was a test over two decades old, shabby with use and leaving a lot to be desired. A moment of painful realization: there simply aren’t enough good placement tests to support the schools and learners in making the first steps towards quality learning experience.
So I felt privileged when later in the same meeting I was given a chance to update the participants on the progress our project team was making in the development of the Next-generation Placement Tests, a new adaptive online solution that will be freely used by learners and teachers around Europe.
The project leader, Amber IT Solutions have now set up this amazing platform for input of test items, creating an unprecedented opportunity for language teaching professionals to make a contribution to the collaborative effort of creating the Next-generation Placement Tests.
Whatever the language you are teaching – English, French, German, Italian, Russian or Spanish, the Next Generation Placement Tests is the place to be.
Looking forward to seeing you there: https://nextgenplacement.org/
